Call for Cover Artist - 2017 May in Montclair Calendar of Events
May in Montclair is a month-long festival of events, including art shows, concerts, garden tours, fairs and markets and more, all of which are listed in the heart of this eagerly awaited book — presented to make people feel good about living, working, shopping and spending leisure time here. The cover art is the 'sizzle in the steak' and an exceptional opportunity for a Montclair artist’s exposure.
We are an all-volunteer organization, and through the generosity of our Tulip Project Sponsors, we will purchase more than 28,000 bulbs this year, donating them for planting throughout Montclair in parks, schools, streetscapes and houses of worship. Tulips have become the hallmark of May in Montclair. Therefore, since the chosen artwork needs to be easily recognized, the incorporation of tulips on the cover has become a traditional must.
If chosen, your artwork will grace the cover of 10,000 books and will appear on posters in store display windows throughout Montclair. Your biography will appear in our 2017 Calendar of Events as well as on MayinMontclair.org which will prominently display your artwork.
ARTIST AND ARTWORK CRITERIA:
- You must live or work in Montclair or be a member of Studio Montclair
- Final artwork can be any media and must include tulips
- Goodwill and great exposure is all we can offer, making this a labor of love
- Deadline for submissions is
December 15, 2016January 7, 2017.

Attach up to 4 digital examples of your artwork (jpg, pdf or tiff files – up to 2 Mb each.)
The chosen artist will be notified January 27, 2017 and final artwork will be due February 24, 2017.
